The capital of the department of Valle del Cauca is one of the most important cities in Colombia, being the third most populous metropolis in the territory and an exponent in economic and business development. 

Santiago de Cali has multiple tourist attractions with history, a dynamic cultural life, a warm climate, hospitality of the people and contagious musical rhythms such as salsa; aspects that allow it to gain fame as a small corner of heaven. As expressed by Grupo Niche in their song Cali Pachanguero: “From heaven Cali, the branch.” 

Activities in Cali 

During your stay in the city, you will be able to tour the banks of the Cali River while appreciating the architecture of national monuments such as La Ermita Church and other colonial infrastructure. On the other hand, the Cali Zoo, the Granada neighborhood and the magnificent Cristo Rey that watches over the city from the Cerro de las Tres Cruces are tourist attractions that cannot be missed. In addition, La Tertulia Museum, La Merced Archaeological Museum and the Calima Gold Museum are some of the most recognized museums that should not be left behind. 

The indigenous, Spanish and African heritage can be evidenced in the traditional gastronomy like the arroz atollado, the chuleta valluna, the chicken sancocho, the green plantain toast with hogao, the aborrajado valluno, the tamales and the soup of tortillas. Likewise, sugar cane allows the production of a wide variety of sweets such as cocadas, manjar blanco and champús, a delicious drink made from lulo, pineapple, cinnamon, corn and panela molasses. 

Talking about Cali is talking about salsa, partying and happiness. In the Juanchito area, you can find numerous dance halls where it will be impossible not to dance and move to the rhythm of the music. One of the unique experiences that you must live in the month of December is the Cali Fair, which is attended by great artists of the genre to perform a Superconcert. During this time, several cultural and sporting events are also held. 

Other festivals of great importance: Petronio Álvarez Pacific Music Festival (which takes place in August) and the World Salsa Festival.
