First, you need to understand that there are two gentilicios for the people of Bogotá. There are the cachacos and there are the rolos. But which is the real one? What is the difference?
Elegance of the cachaco man

But after April 9, Bogota grew so much and people came from outside, that what they called “cachaco” is today in Bogota an exotic species. An ethnic minority. That’s why, it is never superfluous to warn that a cachaco is one thing and a rolo is another.
The cachaco is (or was), above all, provincial and exclusive.
The Bogotano or rolo, on the other hand, is a confusing mixture of Andean cundiboyacence with paisa, tolimense, santandereano, valluno and llanero, which simply responds to the gender “inhabitant of Bogota”. It should be noted that Colombia has 32 departments and 6 regions, so the mixture of someone from Bogota with any other region, department or city, immediately turns him into a rolo. A rolo can be blond or dark, with blue or black eyes, who loves the cold of the early morning and late afternoon, the green color that the hills of the city acquired in the last half hour of the afternoon when the sun is shining.
Also, we Bogotanos love Cundinamarca. Almost nobody talks about the beauty of the department that we were lucky enough to have. We have the savannah and its surrounding moors; the medium climate with its shady coffee plantations; cloud forests, rivers that flow down to the Magdalena, to the plains….
